System Overview
It all starts with Newtonian Physics; Get the satellite up into a low orbit using a launch vehicle, and fire the PKM (perigee Kick motor) to send it into a transfer orbit. Then, at apogee, fire a AKM (Apogee kick motor) to place it into a high circular orbit. Folks back in the early days of space exploration figured out this was the lowest fuel cost to reach orbit.
